River Float (Friday Afternoon)
Pre-Race River Float (Deadline for sign-up: June 1st)
The Beaverhead Endurance Runs and Idaho Adventures have teamed up to offer a discounted, awesome half day scenic float trip on the scenic Salmon River near Salmon Idaho on Friday July 13th (the day before the race)! All you need is your swim suit, water proof camera, and sun screen. The float is very leisurely on calm water with a few small rapids, GREAT FOR ADULTS and CHILDREN (We feel it is best not to wear you runners out on demanding rapids the day before your race). There are options to float in boats, in inflatable kayaks, and on paddle boards. Here are the specifics:
River Trip with Dinner Cost: $50/person, includes shuttle and float trip. The boats, paddles, and life jackets are included, just bring your swimming suit, sun screen, and water proof camera. Runners and those accompanying them are welcome to join in. ONLY 100 SLOTS AVAILABLE!
You can pay during race registration (Click Here) or at a later date (this option is for those who have already registered for the race and just want to pay for the float ) (Click Here) on Ultra Signup.

We want to make this event a family event. Because we know that many runners like to combine running adventures with family and friend outings, we want you to be aware of local businesses that provide adventures for the whole family. Salmon is known as the “White Water Capital of the World” and is the gateway to the largest wilderness area in the lower 48 states. We grew up on the Salmon River. When we were young our dad was a river guide here. We spend a lot of time on the beautiful river which was named “The River of No Return” by Lewis and Clark during their expedition due to its swift waters and steep high cliffs at the rivers edge in many places. If time allows, it is worth spending some time on this wonderful river.
Here is a brief summary of what a couple of local businesses offer:
