We want to make this event a family event. Because we know that many runners like to combine running adventures with family and friend outings, we want you to be aware of local businesses that provide adventures for the whole family. Salmon is known as the “White Water Capital of the World” and is the gateway to the largest wilderness area in the lower 48 states. We grew up on the Salmon River. When we were young our dad was a river guide here. We spend a lot of time on the beautiful river which was named “The River of No Return” by Lewis and Clark during their expedition due to its swift waters and steep high cliffs at the rivers edge in many places. If time allows, it is worth spending some time on this wonderful river.
Here is a brief summary of what a couple of local businesses offer:

Spend quality time with friends rafting or steelhead fishing in a river canyon that is deeper, has warmer water and bigger beaches than that of the Grand Canyon. Mix and Match your vacation itinerary with your family’s personal interests. Allow us to help you schedule a multi-activity vacation package. Celebrate!
